Today, to celebrate Arbor Day, Kimball Office is excited to make a donation on behalf of our distribution partners, the A&D Community, and our customers to the Arbor Day Foundation. With this donation to the Arbor Day Foundation, we are extending our history of reforestation projects as this gift will help to plant trees for cleaner air, cleaner water, and to beautify our lands for generations to come.
We, along with our parent company, Kimball International, have planted nearly 400,000 trees through our Trees for Tomorrow program. Thank you to our dealer partners, A&D Communitiy, and our customers for thinking “green” and participating in neighborhood enhancements, disaster recovery efforts, and supporting the longevity of the world’s forests.

Kimball Office employees recently opened their hearts…and closets…to help those in need. Over 1,000 pairs of shoes and more than $4,000 have been collected and donated from Kimball Office to Soles4Souls. The gently used shoes and money will provide support for people in more than 125 countries.
Soles4Souls is a nonprofit charity based in Nashville, TN and has provided over 14 million pairs of new or gently worn shoes to people in need. Soles4Souls provides someone with a pair of shoes every seven seconds.
“To complete the donation drive, our logistics operations provided a truck fleet to deliver the shoes to the organization’s distribution warehouse in Alabama,” said Allen Parker, Vice President of Marketing and Sales. “It’s been humbling to see our company come together to help so many people.”

Hold on to your Derby hat and mint julep…
Select Dealer, Office Interiors, had a photo finish at the 2011 Designer Derby. The event was hosted by Oklahoma City’s IIDA, and was held at Remington Park, the local horse track. Various vendors and dealerships displayed furniture and products, but the Office Interiors/Kimball Office team decided to go a different route.
A horse of a different breed was created. To showcase the new Kimball Office Vision Collection of surface materials, the team created a wooden horse and used fabric samples to creatively display the new patterns and colorways. The colorful horse attracted attention and sparked ideas with the A&D community that attended the event.

The Vision Collection Horse
Thanks to the Office Interiors/Kimball Office team for creating such a unique and exciting way to show off the new Vision Collection.

Spring is in the air! Select Dealer, Commercial Environments in Knoxville, recently hosted a BIFMA level CEU on sustainability. Commercial Environments put their decorations and tableware where their mouths were…and impressed guests with “green” beauty.
Over 40 designers were greeted with table settings from recycled materials or materials that would be recycled after the event. The plates were made from recycled bamboo that were returned to the manufacturer to be recycled again after the event. Fabric napkins were tied with raffia, and even the tulip centerpieces were planted after the event.

ASID and IIDA members attended the CEU. Villa lounge seating was on display and used during the CEU event. The new showroom of Commercial Environments was also a highlight for those attending the CEU.
Congrats to Commercial Environments for hosting such a great event and breaking in your new showroom space!
