Seven Seating Lines Granted BIFMA level Certification

Seven Kimball Office | interstuhl seating lines, recently received level certification by the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (BIFMA). With the addition of Axos ™, Campos ™, Fit ™, Hero. Just for You. ™, Mitos ™, Silver ™, and Xantos ™, more than 98 percent of Kimball Office products meet BIFMA e3 level status. This third-party certification process is designed to evaluate the sustainability of manufacturer’s products.

“Both of our organizations have worked hard to ensure the products delivered to customers meet and exceed environmental expectations. We will continue our commitment to sustainability by encouraging and sharing green practices with all of our partners, vendors, and suppliers,” said Jeff Fenwick, Vice President and General Manager at Kimball Office.
“Kimball Office and Interstuhl design safe, sustainable products, and we’re excited to officially add this designation to the products within our partnership,” said Steven Brewster, Director of Social Responsibility and Sustainability at Kimball Office.
The BIFMA level certification program evaluates the environmental aspects of product manufacturing throughout the supply chain. Many layers of the process are reviewed, including general areas of materials and energy usage. The effects on human and ecosystem health are examined as well as overall corporate social responsibility. There are three levels of conformance, with each requiring specific prerequisites and optional credits. Level 3 is the highest level of certification.

New Wish Task 300 supports users up to 300 pounds.
Kimball Office is now accepting orders for Wish Task 300 models. This new Heavy Duty addition to the existing Wish seating offering, supports users up to 300 pounds.
This ergonomic, sustainable seating option is budget-friendly and great looking. The new ‘Heavy Duty’ models are available with height adjustable arms, conference arms, or armless.
“The entire Wish line offers performance and visual appeal for the budget-conscious client,” said Jeff Fenwick, Vice President and General Manager at Kimball Office. “The new Wish Task 300 offers clients more flexibility to suit their workers’ needs. The entire line implements ergonomic controls and a simple design, which works harmoniously with the body.”
Known for its universal appeal and flexibility, the Wish line now has standard task seating, stools, and the new Wish Task 300. The chair’s individualized adjustments promote healthy posture and reduce muscle tension during extended periods of sitting. An optional 2-inch seat slider provides more depth for users with longer legs.
Like most Kimball Office products, Wish was designed with the environment in mind, and may contribute to the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits. The full line meets Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) Indoor Advantage Gold certification and is 90% recyclable.

In 2002, we won a Gold Award at NeoCon for our Skye office chair, and Orgatec presented it with the Architecture and Office Prize for Innovation. But no matter how good your seating is, there seems to be a constant push to not only introduce something new, but something better.
